How would you think the Synodal “Church” in Peru is preparing for their “pope’s” looming visit? With prayer? A novena or two? Maybe a national Rosary crusade?
Apparently not.
A video recorded at the Southern Macro-regional Meeting, “Intertwining Voices for Dignity: For Human Rights and the Common Good,” in Cusco, Peru, revealed a disturbing incident that can’t merely be attributed to “cultural sensitivities.”
The “Church”-linked event, held on August 13 and 14, brought together representatives of social organizations, indigenous communities, and Church institutions from southern Peru.
The meeting was promoted as part of the preparation for Leo XIV’s forthcoming engagement with Peru, which will take place from November 11 to November 17.
Vatican News, the Synodal “Church’s” propaganda arm, lauded the event’s concern for “human dignity, justice and the common good.” In other words, the usual Synodal garbage.
The “But-it’s-the-Catholic-Church” crowd must take notice of what comes next.
The event wasn’t started with a Catholic prayer, the Sign of the Cross, or an invocation of the Holy Trinity, but with an Andean ceremony honoring Pachamama, or “Mother Earth.”
According to the video footage, participants were given coca leaves and instructed to close their eyes and perform breathing exercises. Luckily, this doesn’t sound like New Age idolatry at all.
The ceremony leader then explained that August is a special month for the Andean people because it is the month of “Mother Earth,” who gives food and sustains human life. Let me remind you again: this is a supposedly “Catholic” gathering preparing for the visit of their “pope.”
The participants were then directed to place coca leaves and food into vessels on the ground as a pago a la tierra—a “payment to the earth.”
While faithful Catholics might be shocked and scandalized by this incident, it is important to understand that this was just another “day at the office” in the Synodal Abomination. As far as the Synodal religion is concerned, this was perfectly orthodox and in line with the documents of the first Synodal council, Vatican II.
It was also perfectly in line with the pronouncements of its “popes,” such as Jorge Bergoglio: this was merely another way to reach God, as God “willed” this practice of offering to Pachamama. No need to excommunicate anyone.
Independent observers corroborated that the incident indeed represented the pagan Andean practice of offering coca leaves, food, and other objects in thanksgiving to “Mother Earth” (Pachamama). In Cusco, the practice is explicitly described as a pago a la tierra, an ancestral offering to Pachamama.
It gets better. (Or is it worse?)
Maybe one could have excused the incident as the work of ignorant lay people who didn’t know better. The only thing is that two other participants in the ceremony were Monsignor Jordi Bertomeu and “Bishop” Lizardo Estrada Herrera, who inaugurated the meeting.
Bertomeu was not simply an anonymous, unfortunate innocent bystander, but an official of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith who has served as pontifical commissioner in the Sodalitium.
In the footage, he can clearly be seen placing coca leaves into the offering vessel after “Bishop” Lizardo Estrada Herrera.
In other words, these two Synodal prelates didn’t just stand in disapproving silence but actively participated in a pagan ritual. Sadly, this is becoming so commonplace in the Synodal “Church” now that it is no longer surprising.
It is also very important to note that the Vatican News report conveniently focused on the Church’s concern for human rights, social justice, and the preparation surrounding Leo XIV’s Peru visit, without mentioning anything about the little pagan indiscretion.
So, folks, especially those who become so indignant when we tell them this is not a Catholic pope and the Synodal Church is not the Catholic Church, it is clear that open pagan idolatry is no longer a taboo in the Synodal Church.
Hang around long enough, and you too will be offering coca leaves to Pachamama soon. It would fit in nicely between Eucharistic Prayer Nr. 666 and the sacrilegiously placed “kiss of peace”…
