Tell me you are destroying the Catholic Church, without telling me you are destroying the Catholic Church…
Synodal poison and an antidote.
The fact that the Synod on Synodality is an attempt to create a different Church from Christ’s Catholic Church, was evident on the very first day (2 October) of proceedings.
This was clear when, according to a report in the National Catholic Register, a study group tasked with “developing a synodal way of discerning Catholic teachings” concerning controversial issues such as sexuality, presented their proposals to members of the Synod.
The group, one of 10 established by Pope Francis in February, consists of seven members including a heterodox theologian, Father Maurizio Chiodi, who holds and advocates views on contraception and homosexuality that is contrary to orthodox Catholic teaching.
According to the group, doctrine, ethics, and pastoral approaches should be discerned by factoring in people’s lived experiences and being sensitive to cultural changes. The group makes no secret that according to this method, the Holy Spirit can override and replace current Church teaching. This is another way of saying that the Church’s teachings have not been authoritative and that the Holy Spirit “has changed His mind” or some similar horse manure. The satanic intent of this group was further on display in their statement that this approach can be achieved through “conversion of thought or reform of practices in contextual fidelity to the Gospel of Jesus, who is ‘the same yesterday today and always,’ but whose ‘richness and beauty are inexhaustible”. This is a perversion of the truth and reality of Christ’s nature (Hebrews 13:8), which they accomplish through an age-old tactic of the devil – taking a truth and then adding something to it to make it mean what they want to. In this case, they want it to mean “Yes, Jesus is always the same but what was once sin, is now acceptable because Jesus is hip to the times”. Like I say, horse manure.
Furthermore, the group said “Ethically speaking, it is not a matter of applying pre-packaged objective truth to the different subjective situations, as if they were mere particular cases of an immutable and universal law,” and “The criteria of discernment arise from listening to the [living] self-gift of Revelation in Jesus in the today of the Spirit”. Let me translate dear reader. According to the group appointed by the Holy Father, the satanic spirit of relativism, man’s sinful nature, and perverted lusts should guide the Church and not God’s absolute and perfect law. Oh, no, it is time that man’s pride and rebellion against God comes to full fruition by replacing His Will with fallen mankind’s. Even, and especially, in the Catholic Church.
To put it another way, they are saying to hell with Scripture, Tradition, and the Magisterium. Literally… to hell. Catholic men and women wake up and smell the sulfur!
Jonathan Liedl, the author of the excellent piece in the National Catholic Register writes “According to the text of the study group’s presentation, the group emphasized the need to develop an anthropology and “cultural-historical ethics” that are harmonious with the “kerygma and its essential implications” and also with “the new that is revealed in reality”. Yes, the Truth of Christ and the Catholic Church should be buried deep inside an ocean of relativistic quicksand, so that man can reign as god.
By their own account, the group’s paradigm shift means “proclaiming and applying abstract doctrinal principles” to “be open to the ever-new promptings of the Holy Spirit”. Sorry buddy, but when the previous Divine Revelation is contradicted, the “promptings” of the spirit you are hearing is not the Holy Spirit, but the spirit of the Prince of Lies.
The group’s report also stated, “Only a vital, fruitful and reciprocal tension between doctrine and practice embodies the living Tradition and is able to counteract the temptation to rely on the barren [rigidity] of verbal pronouncements”. In other words, Divine Truth must be watered down to suit man, and moral law should be the lapdog of man.
Liedl perfectly sums up the new theology of the new church they are attempting to create, when he writes “At various points, the group’s presentation characterizes moral truth as subservient to, rather than an integral part of, human salvation. The implication is that teaching on a moral matter should change if it is experienced as a barrier to someone’s membership in the Church”.
As Dr Taylor Marshall said, even Stevie Wonder can see what is going on here.
But it is not all bad news. For the second time this week, the antidote for the current lunacy in the Church came from Traditional firebrand Michael Matt’s recent Catholic Identity Conference (CIC). The conference was attended by 800 faithful including Bishop Athanasius Schneider whose profession of faith went viral.
Matt concluded the CIC with, what he himself later described in his newspaper, The Remnant, as a declaration of “Holy War”. Matt made a rousing call to Catholics to re-establish and submit to the Social Reign and Kingship of Jesus Christ.
Here is his full speech:
CHRIST or CHAOS: Catholic Identity Conference Publicly Proclaims the Social Kingship of Jesus Christ
With wars and rumors of wars dominating the headlines abroad, while political parties adopt increasingly Luciferian, pro-abortion and anti-marriage policies here at home, it has become abundantly obvious that the world is languishing under what Pope John Paul II called the “great apostasy.”
Borrowing from the late, great Hilaire Belloc, the Catholic Identity Conference lays blame for this global chaos at the feet of modernity’s global rejection of the Social Kingship of Jesus Christ. Without Christ, there can be only chaos; and “chaotic” defines the human condition worldwide.
Unfortunately, the Vatican’s “Synodal Church of Accompaniment” is doing little to reduce the doctrinal confusion that contributes mightily to the chaos. For example, on September 13, 2024, Pope Francis concluded his visit to Singapore with the starting assertion that “all religions are a path to God.” “There is only one God,” Francis said, “and each of us has a language to arrive at God. Some are Sheik, Muslim, Hindu, Christian, and they are different paths [to God].”
We humbly remind Francis that it was Christ Himself who reaffirmed His kingship in the prayer He Himself taught us: “Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed by Thy Name. Thy KINGDOM come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
When confronted with this unbelievable papal novelty — and I stress that it is a novelty, not an infallible teaching of the Church — faithful Catholics find themselves in the unenviable position of having to resist. We are confronted with the scandalous prospect that even the pope himself has evidently abandoned Our Lord’s Divine Commission to His Apostles: “Therefore go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
If the successors of those Apostles to whom Our Lord gave His divine commission, inside the Vatican and everywhere else, determine to hold their peace in the face of this escalating scandal throughout the world, which has abandoned the sheep, not accompanied them, then it is up to us lay people, us little people, us, the scattered sheep, to become the stones of which Our Lord spoke in Luke 19:40: “I tell you that if these should hold their peace, the very stones would immediately cry out.”
We, the scattered sheep, must cry out because our shepherds have been struck. We cry out because we have no choice. We cry out because the teachings of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, are being undermined. In the Gospel of John, Jesus says absolutely nothing about false religions being pathways to God. Instead, He makes it so clear that there is only one pathway to God: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
And so today, although we take no pleasure in being in the embarrassing and humiliating position of having to resist the pope, the reality is that by his words, Francis has also ignored the warning of St. Paul in First Corinthians: “But the things which the heathens sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils and not to God. And I would not that you should be made partakers with devils.” God help us, where is Peter going? So in this, what is in my opinion the darkest moment in the history of the Catholic Church, we, the scattered sheep, turn to Christ, our Royal Sovereign King as our protection, because we have no one else to turn to. It is the rejection of His sovereign kingship that is the problem to begin with. We turn to Christ the King as our only hope and indeed the only hope of the entire world.
Officially, in this year of Our Lord, 2024, the Catholic Identity Conferences makes a public proclamation of the Social Kingship of Jesus Christ. We beg His intercession on behalf of the Church and His sovereign protection of our country, our children, our families, our homeland. We do this in accordance with Pope Pius XI, the great pope who wrote Quas Primas, an infallible encyclical that reiterates the constant teachings of the Church and of his predecessors. In this encyclical, the great pontiff warns all men that the “manifold evils in the world today are due to the fact that the majority of men have thrust Jesus Christ and His holy law out of their lives … and that as long as individuals and states refuse to submit to the rule of our Savior, there is no prospect of a lasting peace among nations.” Pope Pius is not talking about the future, or after death, he is talking about now — we must subject ourselves to Christ’s rule now.
One hundred years ago – when the world was languishing in chaos between two world wars – Pope Pius does not call for more ecumenism, he does not call for dialogue. He calls on the Social Kingship of Christ. He establishes a feast day acknowledging Christ the Sovereign King as the only hope of the world, calling on all nations to “look for the peace of Christ in the Kingdom of Christ … through the restoration of the Empire of Our Lord …. Christ is King, not only of private individuals but also of rulers and princes [who] are bound to give public honor and obedience to Christ the King.”
This is what the popes used to say about Jesus Christ. Whatever happened to that? All paths lead to God, Pope Francis? Is it really our fault for pointing out that this is in object contradiction of what the popes have been teaching for hundreds of years?
Pope Pius continues:
If to Christ our Lord is given all power in heaven and on earth; if all men, purchased by His Precious Blood, are by a new right subjected to His dominion; if this power embraces all men, it must be clear that not one of our faculties is exempt from His empire.
He must reign in our minds .... He must reign in our wills .... He must reign in our hearts … He must reign in our bodies and in our members .... Christ Himself speaks of His own kingly authority: in His last discourse, speaking of the rewards and punishments that will be the eternal lot of the just and the damned; in His reply to the Roman magistrate, who asked Him publicly whether He were a king or not; after His resurrection, when giving to His Apostles the mission of teaching and baptizing all nations, He took the opportunity to call Himself king, confirming the title publicly, and solemnly proclaimed that all power was given Him in heaven and on earth. (Quas Primas)
Here, Pope Pius XI is reiterating the constant magisterial teaching of his predecessors, including the great Pope Leo XIII — who gave us the Saint Michael Prayer — who adamantly defended Christ as King of this world:
His empire includes not only Catholic nations, not only baptized persons who, though of right belonging to the Church, have been led astray by error, or have been cut off from her by schism, but also all those who are outside the Christian faith; so that truly the whole of mankind is subject to the power of Jesus Christ. (Annum Sacrum)
This is what the popes used to say about Jesus Christ. Whatever happened to that? All paths lead to God, Pope Francis? Is it really our fault for pointing out that this is in object contradiction of what the popes have been teaching for hundreds of years? Does this somehow make us disloyal? No! We are the most loyal, because we are speaking as the loyal opposition to the errors that are now coming down, through no fault of our own. We are the scandalized sheep; our children are the ones who stand to lose the Faith because of this scandal.
Pope Pius XI further says:
Nor is there any difference in this matter between the individual and the family or the State; for all men, whether collectively or individually, are under the dominion of Christ. In Him is the salvation of the individual; in Him is the salvation of society. Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given to men whereby we must be saved. (Quas Primas)
To close this year’s conference, we at The Catholic Identity Conference, in line with what popes of the past have ordered the faithful to do time and again, hereby issue a public proclamation in line with what the popes have ordered mankind to do in the past. Christ is King — He is the only King – He is the way, the truth, and the life. Along with the constant infallible magisterial teachings of our Holy Mother Church, based on the words of Our Lord Himself and defended by every pope back to Peter, we humbly remind Francis that no one comes to the Father except through our King and Sovereign Lord, Jesus Christ the King of History.
We humbly remind Francis that it was Christ Himself who reaffirmed His kingship in the prayer He Himself taught us: “Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed by Thy Name. Thy KINGDOM come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
In fidelity to Christ, then, and obedience to the constant teaching authority of the Church, we proclaim the social Kinship of Jesus Christ as the only hope and salvation of our world at war with itself, and with the unborn, and with the family, and with God Himself. We vow to never be ashamed of Christ’s kingship, and we would rather die than deny His sovereign right to rule over our lives, our homes, and our nations.
Christus vincit! Christus regnat! Christus imperat!
Christ conquers, Christ reigns, Christ commands!
Long live Christ the King!
