From time to time, I have the misfortune of ending up in a Novus Ordo parish for reasons which are not important right now.
Without fail, I am amazed, and saddened, by how such large swathes of souls who identify as “Catholic” could find themselves in the actual bosom of the apostate “church,” which is the precursor to the coming Antichrist, yet do so blissfully (and willfully) ignorant.
They sing their neo-Protestant songs, listen to their eco-pagan, pro-sodomite homilies, participate in their God-offending liturgy, receive the Eucharist from sacrilegious ministers, and don’t have a clue about the teachings of the Catholic faith.
They are big on denying the existence of sin, woke virtue-signalling, busying themselves with this event and that event, which usually have nothing to do with the Jesus of Catholicism or His Church, and mocking and scorning actual Catholics.
Thus, evidence that The Great Infiltration was successful. It could not manage to destroy Christ’s Catholic Church, as He promised, but it did manage to con billions of Catholics over 60 years into believing that a false “church” and its hybrid Frankensteinian religion is the real thing.
To a large degree, this con to end all cons succeeded due to their own lack of knowledge and their unwillingness to find out what their supposed religion really taught.
If they did this—investigated the truth of Catholicism—they would easily find that the postconciliar religion diametrically opposes the Catholicism of Christ’s Church, and worse, that it seeks to dethrone Christ and replace Him with Man.
A little bit of study would also have woken them up to the fact that not only did Scripture warn us of exactly the situation we find ourselves in, but so did more than one message from Our Lady, as well as a number of true popes.
As I planned this essay over time, it started running into more than 20 pages. I therefore decided to focus mostly on some of the most striking warnings from preconciliar popes, which, if any of my Novus Ordo friends (and some of their Synodal-Trad counterparts) just took the time to research, would show them that they find themselves in a mortally dangerous spiritual place: the postconciliar Synodal Abomination.
Please share this article with those you know who have grown comfortable in their false church, in their own denial, and in their new status as the gods of their new false religion.
Let us make sure that their lazy ignorance cannot be used as an excuse.
Now let us continue.
Two temptations seem very attractive to the majority of today’s “Catholics.”
On the one hand, the temptation exists to imagine that no Catholic before us could possibly have anticipated such a collapse of faith, such confusion among Catholics, such division among clergy, or such uncertainty about what constitutes authentic Catholic teaching.
On the other hand, an almost opposite temptation also exists: to insist that nothing serious is happening, that every apparent contradiction must somehow be harmless, and that to recognize a crisis is itself a failure of faith.
Neither one of these two responses is Catholic.
Throughout its 2,000-year history, the Church understood and anticipated that a time would come when the Church on earth would pass through periods of extraordinary trial.
Sacred Scripture warns of apostasy, false prophets, false teachers, deception, persecution, and the “mystery of iniquity.” The Fathers recognized the possibility of grave doctrinal crises, and the saints warned of corruption and deception.
But I would like to stand still at some of the preconciliar popes, who repeatedly described the forces attacking the Church in terms that are difficult to read today without a sense of recognition.
Even putting Scripture, the Church Fathers, Saints and Marian apparitions aside for the purpose of this exercise, we will see, just by reading what so many true popes said, that no faithful Catholic who took the time and effort to study his faith will have any excuse when we reach the end.
As you will see, we were warned that the crisis would not necessarily come looking like an enemy, that falsehood could wear Christian clothing, that false teachers could arise from within, that many would abandon sound doctrine, and that religious indifferentism would become widespread.
We were also warned that even shepherds could become divided, that the enemies of the Church would seek to destroy her teaching authority, and that the faithful would have to persevere.
These warnings are not obscure, but are right there in our Bibles, in the writings of the Fathers, in papal encyclicals, and in the testimony of the saints.
To ignore them is poison to our eternal souls, yet due to this lazy lack of knowledge, it is already too late for many.
Let us start, nonetheless, just momentarily at Scripture, before we get to the popes.
Despite what the modernist detractors, so cozy in their filthy false religion, would like you to believe, concern about apostasy is not a modern traditionalist obsession. It is not something invented by radical traditional and Sedevacantist Catholics who suddenly became alarmed in the twentieth century.
St. Paul writes to the Thessalonians to “Let no man deceive you by any means; for unless the revolt come first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, Who opposeth, and is lifted up above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself as if he were God” (2 Thessalonians 2:3–4; henceforth, all Scripture is taken from Douay-Rheims), before later making the mysterious claim that “For the mystery of iniquity already worketh: only that he who now holdeth, do hold, until he be taken out of the way” (2 Thessalonians 2:7).
St. Paul does not say that the mystery of iniquity will suddenly appear for the first time at the end of history, but that it is already working. This means it is a process or development. Or as I often like to point out, different manifestations of the same Revolution that started at the Fall.
St. John also made this explicit when he wrote in 1 John 2:18–19:
“Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that Antichrist cometh, even now there are become many antichrists: whereby we know that it is the last time…
…They went out from us, but they were not of us: for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have remained with us; but that they might be manifest, that they are not all of us.”
Again, we can see that the warning concerns something connected with the Christian community itself, in the words “They went out from us.”
Elsewhere, St. Paul gives an equally disturbing warning to the bishops of Ephesus when he writes in Acts 20:29–30 that “I know that after my departure ravening wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock” and “of your own selves shall arise men speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.”
Boy, did he get it right. The wolves did enter, and they did arise from among our own men, and they are speaking perverse things.
As we are shortly going to take a look at what later popes said, it is also important to see what the first pope, St. Peter, said on the subject. In 2 Peter 2:1, he wrote: “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be among you lying teachers, who shall secretly bring in destructive sects, denying the Lord that bought them: bringing upon themselves swift destruction.”
Yes, St. Peter, like your colleague St. Paul, you too were blood-chillingly correct, for the falsest of false teachers are now among us, and in the most cunning ways have they introduced the most damnable of errors secretly. We are looking at you Roncalli, Montini, Wojtyła, Ratzinger, Bergoglio and Prevost.
St. Paul also warned us of the counterfeit Catholicism destroying souls today, again in a letter to Timothy, when he writes that “…there shall be a time when they will not endure sound doctrine, but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears… And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables.”
This great Apostle understood and foresaw that first would come the rejection of sound doctrine, then the selection of teachers according to human desires, and finally the abandonment of truth for fables.
Modernism? Synodality? Yes, the ultimate fables which are “Having an appearance indeed of godliness, but denying the power thereof” (2 Timothy 3:5).
There are, of course, many more chilling examples from Holy Scripture, but as I already explained, I would like to focus on some quotes from the great popes.
The preconciliar popes, being true successors of St. Peter, unlike today’s usurpers, understood these biblical warnings and did not live under the illusion that the Church would simply glide peacefully toward the end of history.
They saw the forces of apostasy and revolution gathering around them and tried to warn us.
In 1903, in E Supremi Apostolatus, Pius X described the condition of the modern world in grave language when he spoke of “the audacity and the wrath employed everywhere in persecuting religion, in combating the dogmas of the faith, in brazen effort to uproot and destroy all relations between man and the Divinity!”
He also wrote that “When all this is considered there is good reason to fear lest this great perversity may be as it were a foretaste, and perhaps the beginning of those evils which are reserved for the last days; and that there may be already in the world the ‘Son of Perdition’ of whom the Apostle speaks.”
Like his apostolic predecessors, with almost prophetic accuracy, he described today’s situation perfectly when he wrote in the same document that “man has with infinite temerity put himself in the place of God, raising himself above all that is called God…”
It is as if he foresaw the false popes from Paul VI to Prevost’s obsession with “human dignity.”
Four years later, Pius X would warn us again in his crucial encyclical condemning Modernism, Pascendi Dominici Gregis.
The opening of this document in itself is astonishing when he wrote: “There has never been a time when this watchfulness of the supreme pastor was not necessary to the Catholic body; for, owing to the efforts of the enemy of the human race, there have never been lacking ‘men speaking perverse things’…”
Pius X went on to say that “Still it must be confessed that the number of the enemies of the cross of Christ has in these last days increased exceedingly, who are striving, by arts, entirely new and full of subtlety, to destroy the vital energy of the Church, and, if they can, to overthrow utterly Christ’s kingdom itself.”
And no faithful Catholic would argue that 119 years after this was written, things are a thousandfold worse.
How could he have been so perfectly correct when, back then, he already wrote, “There are many Catholics, yea, and priests too, who say these things openly; and they boast that they are going to reform the Church by these ravings!” and so perfectly predicted the postconciliar destroyers’ war cry that “Dogma is not only able, but ought to evolve and to be changed.”
In 1910, this most holy of popes would warn explicitly in Notre Charge Apostolique of “a great movement of apostasy being organized in every country for the establishment of a One-World Church…”
He thus foresaw today’s lustful and satanic pursuit of a universal religious unity detached from the Catholic fullness of truth, which we know as ecumenism.
In 1928, Pius XI would take up the fight against ecumenism in Mortalium Animos when he warned of an ecumenical movement that sought unity among Christians on a basis that, in his judgment, was incompatible with Catholic doctrine.
He described the proposal “that the nations, although they differ among themselves in certain religious matters, will without much difficulty come to agree as brethren in professing certain doctrines, which form as it were a common basis of the spiritual life,” but then warned that “Certainly such attempts can nowise be approved by Catholics, founded as they are on that false opinion which considers all religions to be more or less good and praiseworthy…”
He then made his damning judgment, which concluded: “from which it clearly follows that one who supports those who hold these theories and attempt to realize them, is altogether abandoning the divinely revealed religion.”
Are you taking notes, Prevost and Co.?
In the same encyclical, Pius XI said that some conceive the Church as “a Federation, composed of various communities of Christians, even though they adhere to different doctrines, which may even be incompatible one with another.”
Again, it sounds like Pius XI was describing the ecumenical Synodal Project a century before it would take shape and start warring against Catholicism.
Unlike the heretic popes of the postconciliar “church,” he also clearly understood “that unity can only arise from one teaching authority, one law of belief and one faith of Christians.”
Leo XIII was another preconciliar pope who was visionary in his description of the coming attempted “destruction of Holy Church.”
In Humanum Genus (1884), he described what he believed was happening when he wrote, “At this period, however, the partisans of evil seems to be combining together, and to be struggling with united vehemence…” and that “They are planning the destruction of holy Church publicly and openly, and this with the set purpose of utterly despoiling the nations of Christendom, if it were possible, of the blessings obtained for us through Jesus Christ our Savior.”
Elsewhere in the same document, Leo XIII warned that the ultimate purpose of the diabolical movement was “the utter overthrow of that whole religious and political order of the world which the Christian teaching has produced, and the substitution of a new state of things… the foundations and laws [of which] shall be drawn from mere naturalism.”
It is no wonder the postconciliar “popes” hardly ever, and very selectively, quote the true preconciliar popes.
Leo XIII went on to speak specifically about the papacy, writing, “But against the apostolic see and the Roman Pontiff the contention of these enemies has been for a long time directed” and “now the time has come when the partisans of the sects openly declare, what in secret among themselves they have for a long time plotted, that the sacred power of the Pontiffs must be abolished, and that the papacy itself, founded by divine right, must be utterly destroyed.”
He also observed that “If those who are admitted as members are not commanded to abjure by any form of words the Catholic doctrines, this omission, so far from being adverse to the designs of the Freemasons, is more useful for their purposes,” before explaining that “in this way they easily deceive the simple-minded and the heedless…”
In 1892, in Custodi di Quella Fede, Leo XIII described the condition of the Church in Italy in language that might as well have been about the “Church” in 2026.
“How can We bear to look upon His chosen people exposed to a constant and ever-present danger of apostasy, pushed toward error and vice, material miseries, and moral degradation,” and then later warned that the enemies of Christ and His Church sought to “tear apart Catholic unity, sowing discord even in the clergy itself, arousing quarrels, fomenting strife, and inciting insubordination, revolt, and schism.”
And for those who want to remain blind by choice and who ask with great disbelief and indignation whether taking these warnings seriously wouldn’t mean that the Church herself can become false, the last true pope gives the answer.
Not only is the answer “no,” but it also shows us that if an institution is committing these grave acts of apostasy, it cannot be the true Catholic Church Christ founded.
In Mystici Corporis Christi, Pius XII taught that the Church possesses supernatural assistance precisely because she is the Mystical Body of Christ.
He wrote that “He willed that His Church should be enriched with the abundant gifts of the Paraclete…” and explained that these gifts made her “a powerful instrument that would never fail,” before making the vital statement that “Jesus Christ, hanging on the Cross, opened up to His Church the fountain of those divine gifts, which prevent her from ever teaching false doctrine…”
This puts us in front of an unavoidable choice. If Christ gave His Church gifts that would “prevent her from ever teaching false doctrine,” then the Synodal Church cannot be the Catholic Church and the postconciliar popes cannot be true popes. To say it is, and they [postconciliar popes] are, would mean Christ’s gifts failed us.
If you claim you are Catholic, you can no longer deny the deadly serious nature of the situation. You are obliged to remain Catholic by holding on to the preconciliar perennial faith.
It means you have to distrust every novelty that contradicts what was believed always, everywhere, and by all. And believe me, every one of the synodal pimps’ novelties contradicts the Catholic faith.
It means you must refuse to exchange revealed truth for the approval of the world and remember that Christ’s Church is no man’s to reinvent. It also means refusing both the temptation of blind credulity and the temptation of cynical despair.
Above all, it means keeping your eyes fixed on Christ and the faith He handed down to us through His Apostles. Not the false religion invented by the Second Vatican Council.
Refusing to heed the warnings of these great popes, of Sacred Scripture, of the Church Fathers, and the messages of Our Lady means you willfully choose an Antichrist “church” and Antichrist religion above Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church.
Believe me when I tell you, that choice will not end well for your soul on Judgment Day…

And here is the crux: the average Catholic (clergy and religious included) is too lazy to do the work, figures God is nice and won’t really send them to Hell for all eternity, or has so embraced the lies that they have truly handed their souls over to Satan. At their particular judgment there will be no excuses as God has warned us through Scripture and Tradition in plain words. Choosing not to investigate the truth of Catholicism for any reason is a choice for damnation.
WOW! This is the most powerful, succinct, undeniable condemnation of the evils of modernism found in the false "church" of V-II that I have ever read. It grieves me to read it, but it is necessary as it may save souls, provided they have they courage to even consider the words of the Apostles, Saints, and true Popes. For the sake of their souls, let us all join in prayer for the lost, even the clergy, provided they repent of their evil, renounce V-II, and restore the true Roman Catholic Church.
De profundis ad te clamavi, Domine; Domine, exaudi orationem meam. Amen.
