The real question is: did his essay receive any reaction from anyone in authority? If not why not? If so, what was it? Predestination, in my opinion, is a mystery beyond the full comprehension of mere humans. We have a God Who Is Eternal, Who created the dimension of time, and willed that human beings have that time span allotted by God to be subject to a testing that will end in Heaven or Hell.
When I was child in Catholic Grade School I kept asking God why, if He knows that someone is going to end up in Hell, would He create that person in the first place?
This really bothered me a lot about God during my childhood. It was kind of a stumbling block.
But eventually I came to a peace, God is God, He Is Perfect and this expresses one of the Mysteries of His Perfection.
Monsignor Charles Pope recently wrote a book that Im currently reading, “The Hell There Is”. If only more people would live with a focus on the constant possibility of ending up in Hell, I’d love to send a copy of this book to everyone.
Jesus Christ would never have wasted His precious time on Earth warning of the reality of Hell if we weren’t in serious danger of ending up there!
