It's perfectly ok to attend SSPX, they have faculties granted by the Pope though their canonical situation is "irregular" officially. But often difficult to get to a TLM in many places, I sympathise.

Yes, just go Sspx. You can try to be a faithful, tradition loving NO Catholic, but you are just depriving yourself of the graces of the traditional Catholicism in the old rite sacraments. Go Sspx and never look back. It is worth it! God bless you!

I tend to agree with a lot of the posts like this, but find they’re not more than just articulated complaining, without anything else of substance.

I appreciated the tactical nature of the post with recommendations for those without access to the TLM and seeking to deepen their roots in tradition.

I would also mention this: Study Vatican II itself. Much of it is beautiful and worthwhile, and the better we know these texts, the simpler it is to call out deliberate misunderstandings of V2 with precision and grace.

The particular notions contained within Vatican II are not, to my mind, remotely heretical. But they also do not point toward a world of little old ladies handing out the Eucharist and boomers strumming 70's pop classics on guitars, etc etc etc. The better we know V2, the better we can defend the faith.

Two things you don’t mention, which might work. First, find other like-minded people, preferably real people. You will find someone in your parish who is on your wavelength. There is a corner of sanity at least. Second, one parish somewhere will have a good priest, who may not be perfect but who may be encouraged bit by bit. When all else fails, remember that God has to put up with the same offerings, and will be glad of your help.
