Being honest, I often think what's really going to change in my life according to who's the pope. I'll continue going to mass, praying the rosary, reading the bible and the catechism to my sons and having epiphanies with my beloved husband. We're getting married sacramentaly in August, after 1 year of being married only legally, and I couldn't be happier that we'll be able to participate in the eucharist
I loved this and it was exactly what I needed to read today as the conclave convenes. Let us all pray and look to Calvary remembering God is in charge and God alone suffices! AMEN!
It can be easy to forget that we really do serve a truly Unfathomable God Who we will discover someday does not precisely and fully share even what we consider to be our most certain and reliable convictions and conclusions. We may hope to gain perfect knowledge of God only out of what is actually the true state of our existence as we attend before Him which is one of consummate destitution of means and merit with respect to Him, even pertaining to the most spiritually astute of our brethren. Our Savior, Who is God and with whom we share, as full participants in His Sonship with respect to our Father, always took this same selfless posture, even though He was Himself God and knew all things. This one disposition of Jesus alone when undertaken by us reveals to us perfect knowledge of Him. It is not possible for us to understand our Triune God in the least but because of the salvific acts of our Savior we can know Him and His dispositions intimately. perfectly, and personally. We should endeavor not mistake pursuit of the understanding of God, which is always steeped in personal pride, with the immersion in knowledge of Him that arises from encountering Him in contemplation as we attend and adore our God where He resides. The term "knowledge" being employed here is used in the intimate Scriptural sense where passion and love, for instance, become the greater elements in our mutual union with God just as in any such human interaction but I have found these, in this instance, to be far more compelling than in any human relationship. We truly serve our God alone, for His sake alone, not when we bring our best to the table in our life's encounters with Him but when we bring nothing but our spiritually naked selves becoming truly empty and steeped in the destitution referred to here earlier, and most especially when we dare to approach Him in unqualified spiritual and intellectual destitution. As we do so, we soon begin to realize that we have begun our participation in Jesus' Sonship, not as mere emulators of Him, but as participants here on earth in our destiny of Sainthood.
Beautifully said. Thank you. I really needed this today. Thank you for your humility in addressing your stumble. I especially loved the part of your story where you saw the beauty in the darkness. God is so good, and He really does make good out of everything that He allows. Absolutely stunning piece. Thank you and God bless you.
“Others, like my Sedevacantist friends, deny we’ve had a legitimate pope since 1958 and therefore hardly have a dog in the fight.”
Reality: “Catholics who believe in the papacy and Christ’s promises recognise that non-Catholics who aren’t members of the Church because they are modernist heretics and are ineligible for the papacy have been falsely occupying the papal throne since at least the mid-1960s.
We fight for our souls and Christ’s kingdom on earth through supernatural warfare”
