"WHAT, IN THE NAME OF GOD, IS HAPPENING TO OUR CATHOLIC CHURCH?"

I can't imagine the trauma that good Catholics had to endure back in the late 1960s as their beautiful liturgy, churches and faith were defiled by the modernist minions of Lucifer. My earliest Catholic memory was singing "kumbaya" at Mass in the early 70s. It took me 3-4 decades to fully appreciate what was stolen.

An interesting article. Who else has orders derived from him and where are they now?

Born in 1959, I lived the trauma in a Catholic family in NJ first-hand. It's quite a story and at 39 I was given a second chance. I lost 26 years of service to the Lord when I turned my back to TRUTH. He brought me back when on April 16, 1998 He planted the words, "It's ALL TRUE."

Thank you for this post! I had never heard of either of these two wonderful men. Fr. DePauw's letter was a heartbreaking delight to read. How the people of those times must have suffered! Yet the worst of it is that, in spite of all their work, we continue in the same situation they protested against.

And before Bishop Kurz, Fr Depauw, and Archbishop Lefebvre, we have Fr Leonard Feeney and the St Benedict Center suffering persecution for insisting on Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus. Outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation. Three books I have read tell the story of Fr Feeney, Sr Catherine Goddard Clarke and othe members of St Benedict Center in Cambridge MA in the late 1940s into the 50s and how their work with Catholic students at Harvard was at first approved and appreciated until the group insisted on Outside the Catholic Church there is No Salvation. Read their remarkable and inspiring story in “The Loyolas and the Cabots”, and “Gate of Heaven” by Catherine Goddard Clarke and “After the Boston Heresy Case” by Gary Potter. This episode of denial of Catholic dogma by the Boston hierarchy has been memory-holed and mentioning Fr Feeney in a positive light will earn you the epithet “feeneyite” by those who I doubt have bothered to research what really happened. You will learn that the roots of our current crisis go back way before V2. You will learn that our continent was civilized and the native population converted to Catholicism in the American southwest.
